Forfatteren og landsretssagføreren Knud Nordentoft (1895-1953) meldte sig ind i Danmarks Nationalsocialistiske Arbejderparti i 1940 og fik ansættelse som partifunktionær. I tre et halvt år skrev han en omfattende dagbog om livet blandt danske og tyske nazister, indtil han blev arresteret i majdagene i 1945.
