Quando ripensiamo ai fatti significativi della nostra vita tutti noi ormai siamo abituati a ragionare in termini di "prima" o "dopo" l'11 settembre 2001. È un dato di fatto oggettivo: quel giorno ha diviso la storia del mondo in un "prima" ed in "dopo". Ormai quando si usa l'espressione "undici settembre" non serve più nemmeno specificare di che anno si tratti: è chiaro per tutti che ci si riferisce all'11 settembre 2001.

Giovanni Paolo II è il solo papa del Novecento che può vantare una vittoria politica, quella nel confronto con il sistema comunista. Eppure il suo è un pontificato religioso. Questa è la cifra con la quale si presenta Karol Wojtyła quando, nel 1978, con grande sorpresa di tutti, viene eletto papa. Eredita una Chiesa che, dopo il Concilio Vaticano II e il '68, sembra in declino. Ma il suo messaggio coglie nel segno: "Non abbiate paura! Aprite le porte a Cristo!".

Början på slutet för en av Sveriges största traffickingringar blir ett telefonsamtal som kommer till kriminaljouren från en kvinnlig medarbetare vid den tjeckiska ambassaden.
