After receiving an anonymous death threatening note, the aged owner of a Scottish whiskey distillery reaches out to Holmes and Watson. Both of them travel to the Highlands to get to the bottom of the matter and stop the perpetrator.

"A Voyage to Brobdingnag" is a novel by Jonathan Swift: Gulliver soon sets out again. “A Voyage to Lilliput” is a novel by Jonathan Swift: The travel begins with a short preamble in which Lemuel Gulliver gives a brief outline of his life and history before his voyages. - During his first voyage, Gulliver is washed ashore after a shipwreck and finds himself a prisoner of a race of tiny people, less than 6 inches (15 cm) tall, who are inhabitants of the island country of Lilliput. After giving assurances of his good behaviour, he is given a residence in Lilliput and becomes a favourite of the Lilliput Royal Court.

"A Voyage to Laputa, Balnibarbi, Luggnagg, Glubbdubdrib and Japan" is a novel by Jonathan Swift: Setting out again, Gulliver's ship is attacked by pirates, and he is marooned close to a desolate rocky island near India. He is rescued by the flying island of Laputa, a kingdom devoted to the arts of music, mathematics, and astronomy but unable to use them for practical ends. Rather than use armies, Laputa has a custom of throwing rocks down at rebellious cities on the ground.

"Gulliver's Travels" is a novel by Jonathan Swift: Gulliver's Travels, or Travels into Several Remote Nations of the World. In Four Parts. By Lemuel Gulliver, First a Surgeon, and then a Captain of Several Ships is a prose satire of 1726 by the Irish writer and clergyman Jonathan Swift, satirising both human nature and the "travellers' tales" literary subgenre. It is Swift's best known full-length work, and a classic of English literature. Swift claimed that he wrote Gulliver's Travels "to vex the world rather than divert it".

Shortly after the death of the famous socialistic theorist Karl Marx, his literary executor, Friedrich Engels, approaches Sherlock Holmes. While international guests are traveling from all over the world to the funeral in London, he is in need of assistance with solving mysterious events that have occurred and culminate in a showdown at the cemetery.

Inspector Lestrade asks for Holmes's help after Charles McCarthy is murdered, and his son, James, is implicated. McCarthy, and another local landowner, John Turner, are both Australian expatriates, and Lestrade was originally engaged by Turner's daughter, Alice, who believes James is innocent. Holmes interviews James, and then inspects the scene of the murder, deducing a third man was present.

Silver Blaze, one of the 56 Sherlock Holmes short stories written by Sir Sir Arthur Conan Doyle, is one of 12 in the cycle collected as The Memoirs of Sherlock Holmes. Doyle ranked "Silver Blaze" 13th in a list of his 19 favourite Sherlock Holmes stories. Sherlock Holmes and his partner Dr. Watson travel by train to Dartmoor to investigate a crime of disappearance of the great race horse Silver Blaze and the murder of the horse's trainer, John Straker.

Sherlock Holmes and Dr. Watson visit "Buffalo Bill's Wild West Show", which is on a big tour through the Empire. During the show, however, one of the Performers, who was acting as Ghost Dog, Chief of the Lakota tribe, mysteriously falls from his horse and succumbs to his injuries. Colonel William F. Cody instructs Holmes to investigate the incident.

Holmes and Watson discover a secret laboratory. Soon they realize that not only chemical, but also questionable medical experiments have been conducted on the premises.
