In this gripping account, Nat Turner narrates the harrowing events of his rebellion during the infamous insurrection in Southampton, Virginia, which unfolded from August 21 to 23, 1831. Speaking from his jail cell in November of that year, just days before his execution, Turner offers a chilling perspective on the violence and turmoil that marked this pivotal moment in American history. - Summary by Joel Kindrick

Enter the fascinating world of Flatland, a timeless classic that blends mathematics, philosophy, and societal commentary into an imaginative tale of dimensions. In this groundbreaking novella, Edwin A. Abbott introduces listeners to a two-dimensional universe inhabited by geometric shapes. Narrated by a humble square, the story explores life in a flat plane where hierarchy is determined by shape and angles, offering sharp insights into the rigid class systems of Abbott’s time—and our own.

Part geometry lesson, part social satire, this classic work of science fiction brilliantly succeeds in enlarging all readers' imaginations beyond the limits of our 'respective dimensional prejudices. In a world where class is determined by how many sides you possess, and women are straight lines, the prospects for enlightenment are boundless, and Abbott's hypotheses about a fourth and higher dimensions seem startlingly relevant today.
