The Spiritual Exercises of Ignatius of Loyola are a set of Christian prayers and meditations written by Saint Ignatius of Loyola, a 16th-century Spanish priest, theologian, and founder of the Society of Jesus. The work is divided into four thematic "weeks" of variable length, designed to assist the worshiper in acts of devotion.

Atlantis: The Antediluvian World was published in 1882 by the Minnesotan author Ignatius L. Donnelly. This account of the life of St. Ignatius, dictated by himself to Father Gonzalez, is a most valuable record of the great Founder of the Society of Jesus. It, more than any other work, gives an insight into the spiritual life of St. Ignatius. Few works in ascetical literature, except the writings of St. Teresa and St. Augustine, impart such a knowledge of the soul.The saint in his narrative always refers to himself in the third person, and this mode of speech has here been retained.

To Give and Not to Count the Cost includes a reading of the eponymous prayer followed by beautiful piano music based on an original composition of Frederic Chopin. The piano composition includes Nocturne in F-sharp Minor, Op. 48 No. 2 - Andantino. This is one of Chopin's longer nocturnes, containing soothing, simple chord progressions. A seemingly endless melody is played with restless triplets on the left hand.
