Adam and his crew are faced with the ultimate challenge: to save the Milky Way Galaxy from the Nuorean invaders. This time their backup will be two-and-a-half MILLION light-years away. They knew this could be a one-way trip, but the stakes were too high not to try. Someone had to step up and be the hero, and Adam's eclectic mix of humans and aliens have been there before. As an eclectic band of heroes set out to rescue Adam's kidnapped daughter, Lila, everyone is asking what do they do when they find her? She was abducted by the three-billion-year-old Aris, beings who possess technology and genius far beyond anything in the Milky Way today. How does one fight against such technology, against such genius? In the meantime, the galaxy is being overrun by the invaders from Andromeda whose brutal gladiator-like contests are just getting underway...and with the Humans their prime targets.

Everything is going great in the Milky Way Galaxy. Adam's immortal mutant alien daughter Lila is running the Expansion, and the Orion-Cygnus Union is experiencing its first period of peace and tranquility since its founding. Yet things are not as idyllic as they seem. A new alien threat has entered the galaxy, bringing with it a level of pragmatic barbarism unmatched by anyone in the Milky Way. Add to this, an ancient home-grown power has returned, curious to see the results of its three-billion-year-long galactic experiment.

The Scorched Earth in the title doesn't refer to the Human's homeworld. Rather it describes the path of death and destruction that Adam Cain burns on his way from Earth to the planet Juir as he seeks revenge for the killing of one of his closest friends. But there's more. Sherri and Arieel have been taken prisoner by the Juirean leader, with a date for their execution already set. The aliens may have thought Adam was dangerous before, but they ain't seen nothing yet.

The alien with an attitude is back! But for how long? After the tragic events at the end of Secondary Protocol, the truth is finally revealed to Adam and his friends. Now, he's living on borrowed time as his resurrected body is rapidly deteriorating. To save Adam, the mutants—Panur and Lila—must take him to the Sol-Kor universe. But in doing so, they awaken the wrath of Queen J'nae, who will use all her resources to destroy Panur—along with any hope of Adam surviving. And to add insult to injury, the New Klin from Kracion's universe have invaded the Milky Way.

In a continuation of the events begun in Raiders of the Shadow, Adam Cain and Copernicus Smith face off against an old enemy . . . in fact, several old enemies. The Klin have returned, as have the Second Generation Humans from the early days of The Human Chronicles. Their old foe is back at it again, but this time teamed up with the deadly weapons manufacturer Xan-fi, on another galaxy-conquering quest. But this time, they won't be denied.

The story of the Klin comes full circle. After failing to conquer the Expansion—again—the aliens set their sights once again on Earth and the human race. This time, they're bringing their deadly subcutaneous microchips to get the race to do their bidding. But when things go horribly wrong, the Klin have to look at alternatives. When Adam Cain and Copernicus Smith inadvertently discover the Klin's sinister plot on Earth, they're shocked to find that the truth is hard to believe. And now our reluctant heroes must find the Klin surrogates and prevent the takeover.

When Adam and Riyad journey to the planet Visidor to help free their alien friends Kaylor and Jym from vindictive local law enforcement, they thought all it would take would be wowing the locals with their celebrity. After all, they'd just saved the galaxy from the evil Sol-Kor menace. Now begins a wild adventure involving the most powerful galactic corporations to ever exist—stronger than any so-called empire—along with hordes of angry drug-runners and more, all in a desperate race to discover a secret that will alter the balance of power throughout the Milky Way galaxy—forever.

The war with the Sol-Kor within their home galaxy has finally begun, spearheaded by the revenge-seeking Hal'ic, whose massive fleet of warships is commanded by none other than Admiral Andy Tobias. In the meantime, Adam Cain and his gang are stranded on Kor, trying to survive the battering the planet is taking at the hands of the Hal'ic. Copernicus Smith, everyone's favorite starship repairman, scoundrel and deep-cover spy, has stumbled upon a conspiracy of galactic proportions. It has also gotten him beat up, near death and a captive of the secretive Ryness Cartel. And they will continue to torture him until he reveals what he knows. The problem: He knows nothing. Now Adam Cain, Sherri Valentine and Riyad Tarazi are on the hunt for their friend and on-again, off-again teammate. But just when our heroes think they have the mystery figured out, something new jumps up that throws all their assumptions into a tailspin.

When last we left our intrepid heroes, Adam Cain had been taken captive by the new mutant queen of the flesh-eating Sol-Kor invaders, while his trusty sidekick Riyad Tarazi made it safely back to the Milky Way. Now Riyad sets out on a desperate mission to rescue Adam. His task appears impossible, as Adam is being held in another universe cut off from our own. The only person who can help Riyad is the immortal mutant genius Panur, who's disappeared somewhere in the galaxy with Adam's daughter Lila.

With the Milky Way galaxy engaged in a life-or-death struggle against the evil Sol-Kor Colony, Adam Cain and Riyad Tarazi are given the chance to end the war once and for all: Travel into another universe and assassinate the queen of the Sol-Kor. If their mission succeeds, it could end the war with a single stroke, saving trillions upon trillions of innocent creatures from the ravenous, flesh-eating invaders. If not...
