Princess Ozma and Dorothy travel to an obscure corner of the Land of Oz to prevent a war between two local powers, the Skeezers and the Flatheads. The leaders of the two tribes prove obstinate, and they are determined to fight in spite of Ozma and Dorothy.

Valancy is, at twenty-nine, the old maid of the Stirling clan, which is a reputable family that has lived in the same region for over fifty years. As an only child, her entire life has been spent with her nagging mother, her perpetually down-trodden aunt, and a gossipy extended family, who, in spirit of the Victorian and middle class, actively discourage happiness and treat Valancy like a child, telling her what to do every day and constantly comparing her with her beautiful cousin, Olive, putting her down, and calling her by the baby name "Doss."

The Lost Princess of Oz is the eleventh book in the Oz series written by L. Frank Baum. Published on June 5, 1917, it begins with the disappearance of Princess Ozma, the ruler of Oz and covers Dorothy and the Wizard's efforts to find her. Dorothy has risen from bed for the day and is seeing to her friends in the Emerald City and notices that Ozma has not awakened yet.

Es ist offensichtlich: Das Stück "Macbeth" ist verflucht und Cece hat den Fluch versehentlich heraufbeschworen. Nun setzt sie alles daran, den Fluch zu brechen, um jedes Unglück abzuwenden. Mithilfe von Amy und Lola kommt Cece dahinter, dass Shakespeare damals einer umherziehenden Schauspielerin und Wizen das Stück geklaut hat. Daraufhin hatte jene Juliet das Stück mit einem Fluch belegt.

Laut einer Legende liegt auf dem Stück "Macbeth" seit Jahrhunderten ein Fluch. Cece glaubt nicht daran, aber bei den Proben für das Ballett löst sie unwissentlich einen Fluch aus. Seitdem geschehen sonderbare Dinge an der Ballettschule und alle sind angespannt und benehmen sich merkwürdig. Aus der Rivalität zwischen Jack und Benoit entwickelt sich ein regelrechter Kampf um die Hauptrolle.

Die Mädchen drehen durch. In 6 Wochen werden die Hauptrollen für die Abschlussaufführung bekannt gegeben und jede will die Beste sein. Mia steckt mit ihrem Ehrgeiz Cece und Simone an. Um ihren Ballettdirektor Armando Castillo zu beeindrucken, planen die drei für den nächsten Tag eine Walzer-Vorführung.

Cece ist verwirrt. Nachdem Benoit sie auf dem Wohltätigkeitsball versetzt hatte, war sie Adrian nähergekommen. Cece erzählt ihrer besten Freundin Simone von dem Dilemma. Die rät ihr, sich Zeit mit einer Entscheidung zu lassen. Jack und Benoit haben immer noch Streit.

Ceces Mutter Lizzie möchte, dass Cece mit ihr zurück nach Boston kommt. Sie soll sich außerdem von jeder Magie fernhalten, da sie dadurch von den Mystics aufgespürt werden könnte.
