Contending For the Faith provides teaching on a discipleship level that includes theology, apologetics, evangelism, and issues that are pertinent to our society today. After a short teaching, the phone lines are opened up to callers who have questions, comments, or who are in need of advice and prayer. Counseling is also provided to those who need it, in addition to prayer, words of encouragement are given. The Vigilant Church of God is a group of people who believe Jesus Christ raised up an apostle in the 20th century to lead the Philadelphia era of God's Church. That man was Herbert W. Armstrong. In Matt. 28:19-20, Christ gave the commission to preach the gospel to all nations, to His original apostles, not to the Church.
