ಡಾ. ಕೆ. ಎನ್ ಗಣೇಶಯ್ಯ ಅವರ 'ನೇಹಲ' ಕಥಾ ಸಂಕಲನದಲ್ಲಿ ಒಟ್ಟು 8 ಕತೆಗಳಿದ್ದು, ಇತಿಹಾಸ, ಸ್ಕೈ-ಫೈ, ಮನೋವಿಜ್ಞಾನ, ಸಾಮಾಜಿಕ ಕಳಕಳಿ ಹೀಗೆ ವಿಭಿನ್ನ ವಿಭಾಗಕ್ಕೆ ಸೇರಿದವಾಗಿವೆ.

ಕೃಷ್ಣದೇವರಾಯನ ಅರಸಿ ಜಗನ್ಮೋಹಿನಿಗೆ ಪ್ರಿಯವಾದ ರಾಗ ಈ 'ಪಂಜರ'. ಅವಳ ಪ್ರೇಮವೂ, ಕನ್ನಡ ರಮಾರಮಣನ ಬದುಕೂ ಈ ರಾಗ ಪಂಜರದಲ್ಲೇ ಬಂಧಿಯಾಯ್ತು. ವಿಜಯನಗರದ ಪತನಕ್ಕೆ ಬುನಾದಿ ಕಲ್ಲು ಇಟ್ಟಿತು.

ಐತಿಹಾಸಿಕ ರೋಚಕ ಘಟನೆಗಳ ಸುತ್ತ ಹೆಣೆಯಲಾದ ಅದ್ಭುತ ಥ್ರಿಲ್ಲರ್ ಕಾದಂಬರಿ ಡಾ.ಕೆ.ಎನ್.ಗಣೇಶಯ್ಯನವರ "ಚಿತಾದಂತ - ಶಾಂತಿದೂತನ ದಂತಯಾನ

ಹದಗೆಟ್ಟ ಗ್ರಹಗತಿಯಿಂದಾಗಿ ತನ್ನ ಹಣೆಬರಹ ತಾನೇ ಬರೆದುಕೊಂಡ ಲೀಲಾವತಿ, ಎರಡನೇ ಭಾಸ್ಕರಾಚಾರ್ಯರ 'ಲೀಲಾವತಿ' ಪುಸ್ತಕಕ್ಕೆ ಮಾತ್ರ ಕಾರಣಳಲ್ಲ. ಅಮ್ಮನ ಸಾವಿನ ಸತ್ಯಕ್ಕೂ, ಅಪ್ಪನ ಘನತೆಯ ತತ್ವಕ್ಕೂ ಮೀರಿ ಮಾನವೀಯತೆ ಮೆರೆದಿದ್ದಕ್ಕಾಗಿ ಮಹಾನಳು.

ಅಲ್ಲೂರಿ ಸೀತಾರಾಮರಾಜು ಆಪ್ತ ಭಂಟ ಬೋನಂಗಿ ಪಾಂಡು ಪಡಾಲ, ಸಿಕ್ಕಬಹುದಾದ ಸ್ವಾತಂತ್ರ್ಯವನ್ನು ತ್ಯಾಗ ಮಾಡಿ, ಅಂಡಮಾನ್ ಜೈಲು ಸೇರಿದ ಕಥೆ. ಸುಟ್ಟ ಜೈಲಿನ ಜೊತೆ ತಾನೂ ಸುಟ್ಟು ಬೂದಿಯಾದ ಸೀತಾರಾಮನ ಗುಪ್ತಚರೆ, ಗುಡಿ ಮಲ್ಲಪ್ಪನ ಪತ್ನಿಯ ಧೀರ ಕಥೆ.

ಎರಡು ಅಸ್ಥಿಪಂಜರಗಳಿಂದಾಗಿ ಬಿಚ್ಚಿಕೊಂಡ ರಾಜಾ ದೇವರಾಯನ ಕಾಲದ ದುರಂತ. ಸುರಸುಂದರಿ ನೇಹಲಳಿಗಾಗಿ ಕಾದಾಡಿದ ಅರಸರಲ್ಲಿ ಯಾರಿಗೂ ದಕ್ಕದ ಅವಳು, ಕೈಗೆ ಸಿಕ್ಕಷ್ಟು ಸಂಪತ್ತು ಕಟ್ಟಿಕೊಂಡು ಮಲಯಾಬಾದಿಗೆ ಬಂದು ಗೆದ್ದಳೇ? ಸೋತಳೆ?

ತನ್ನ ಸಾಧನೆಯ ಹಪಾಹಪಿಗೆ ಹೆಣೆದ ಷಡ್ಯಂತ್ರಕ್ಕೆ ತಾನೇ ಸಿಕ್ಕು, ಮುಕ್ಕಾದ ವಿದ್ಯಾರ್ಥಿಗೆ ಬೇಕಿದ್ದದ್ದು ತಾಳ್ಮೆ. ಆದರೆ ಮೇಲುಗೈ ಸಾಧಿಸಿದ ಪಾಪ ಪ್ರಜ್ಞೆ, ಅವಳ ಗುರುವನ್ನೂ ಬಿಡದೇ ಕಾಡಿದಾಗ ಹುಟ್ಟಿದ ಕತೆ.
