Ein Lustspiel der klassischen Bühnenliteratur von Franz und Paul von Schönthan, bei dem sich das Theater in Form der Schmiere selbst persifliert. Erstmals tritt in der Produktion des Hessischen Rundfunks auch Frau Direktor Striese in einigen Passagen des Stücks auf. Eine Vorlage für diese Adaption lag bereits im Stück selbst und es war lediglich notwendig sie im Stil des Gymnasialprofessors Gollwitz nachzudichten.
