All of the geniuses in Six Great Scientists - Copernicus, Galileo, Newton, Darwin, Curie, and Einstein - had one thing in common: the determination to do scientific research whatever the obstacles. They all had the imagination to conceive great ideas and the force of will not to be defeated. Their stories renew our confidence in the human spirit. They remind us of the advancements that can result when men and women have the ability and courage to achieve great things.

Maxwell Morgan has always been a very practical guy. He started working at age fifteen because his foster family was stretched thin. He joined the army right out of high school to earn money for college. Even after getting his first job after college, he kept working the three jobs that let him get there—National Guard infantryman, farmer, and blacksmith. About nine months into his new job as an HR Generalist, Max’s boss arranged a one-week team-building event for the team. Max and his five attractive, female co-workers boarded the plane for Sheridan, Wyoming, and then things went sideways.

In September 2019, Max Morgan boarded a vintage Beech Twin aircraft with the five ladies from his office and the three-person flight crew for a flight to Sheridan, Wyoming. Max’s boss had scheduled a team-building exercise for survival training, so they had bags packed with camping gear, firearms, and ammunition. Then the aircraft hit a mysterious vortex in the air that pulled them inexorably toward the west at a dizzying speed. That vortex dumped their aircraft back in time in northern Germany 1,700 years earlier.

Acclaimed author JG Farrell came to fame with his Empire Trilogy, exploring the collapse of British colonialism and its repercussions in three different countries. The first book in the series, Troubles, won the Geoffrey Faber Memorial Prize and the Lost Man Booker Prize, while the second, The Siege of Krishnapur, was awarded the Booker Prize for Fiction. Included here are three BBC Radio adaptations of the trilogy, plus an edition of Witness History exploring Farrell's tragic accidental death.
