Lessons from the Thorns is based on the true story of a young girl’s incredible journey through the painful experiences (thorns) of the dreadful realities of life, including childhood sexual abuse and human trafficking. It is a journey that chronicles the fight for mental health and wellness, the search for her voice, her soul. It is the story of a Savior; a Hero was paid the highest price to redeem her right to be free and to be loved.

The spiritual traditions of the world describe paradise as both a state of mind and a harmonious garden of plenitude. Though we think of these stories as metaphors, our health and happiness and the health of the planet are not separate, unrelated states of being. Wisdom and grace lie within the sacred matrix of nature of which we are a part.
