Hon hittar en svårt skadad man på rysskyrkogården och när polis och ambulans väl anlänt står det klart att mannen inte kommer överleva.

När Magdalena Storms hyreskontrakt för lokalen där hon har sitt kontor blir uppsagt kan hon inte låta bli att känna sig förbannad och uppgiven. I tre år har hon hyrt lokalen i Gamla Stan och där utfört sitt arbete som illustratör, och hon har trivts riktigt bra. Men nu är det över och i Magdalenas ögon är allt hyresvärden Birgittas Stenhammars fel, kunde hon inte gett henne lite förvarning? Men det dröjer inte länge förrän en förlorad arbetslokal är det minsta av Magdalenas bekymmer.
