ವೈದೇಹಿಯವರ ಸ್ತ್ರೀಸಂವೇದನಾಶೀಲತೆ, ಕೇವಲ ಸ್ತ್ರೀಯರ ಬದುಕನ್ನಷ್ಟೇ ಕುರಿತದ್ದಲ್ಲ. ಮನುಷ್ಯರೆಲ್ಲರನ್ನೂ ಕುರಿತದ್ದು. ಅವರು ಕೆಳಸ್ತರಗಳ ಹೆಂಗಸರ ಬಗ್ಗೆ ಏನನ್ನೂ ಬರೆಯಲಿಲ್ಲ ಎಂದು ಕೆಲವರ ಆಕ್ಷೇಪ ಎಂದಿನಿಂದಲೂ ಇದೆ. 'ಬಾಕಿ ಇತಿಹಾಸ' ಹಾಗೂ ಮಂಜಮ್ಮಜ್ಜಿಯ ಕಥೆಗಳನ್ನು ಓದಿದ ಮೇಲೆ ಆ ಸ್ತ್ರೀಯರ ಜೀವನದ ಸ್ತರ ಯಾವುದೆನ್ನಬಹುದು? ಎಲ್ಲ ಬಗೆಯ ಸೈದ್ಧಾಂತಿಕ ಓದುಗಾರಿಕೆಯಿಂದ ಹುಟ್ಟಿದಂಥ ಪ್ರಶ್ನೆಗಳಿಗೆ ಉತ್ತರ ಹೇಳಲು ಯತ್ನಿಸುವುದು ವೈದೇಹಿಯವರ ವಿಧಾನವಲ್ಲ. ಏನನ್ನೇ ಉತ್ತರಿಸುವುದಕ್ಕೂ ಸೃಜನಶೀಲವೂ, ಕಲಾತ್ಮಕವೂ ಆದ ಕತೆಗಾರಿಕೆಯಲ್ಲೇ ಅವರು ಯತ್ನಿಸುತ್ತಾ ಬಂದಿದ್ದಾರೆ. 'ಕತೆ ಕತೆ ಕಾರಣ'ದ ಕಥೆಗಳು ಅವರ ಅಭಿವ್ಯಕ್ತಿಯ ಹಾದಿಯಲ್ಲಿ ಹೇಗೋ ಹಾಗೆ ಕನ್ನಡದ ಕಥನಸಾಹಿತ್ಯದ ಹಾದಿಯಲ್ಲೂ ಒಂದು ಮೈಲಿಗಲ್ಲಾಗಿವೆ ಎಂಬುದು ನನ್ನ ನಂಬಿಕೆ.
