As soon as they step inside it, the door behind them shuts suddenly. The brothers get trapped inside the tomb that turns out to be the home of the mighty Sphinx. An archaeological expedition takes Master Wu, mentor to the six ninjas, Misako, Lloyd's mother, and Clutch Powers, the adventurous archaeologist, to an unexplored island. Numerous dangers and carnivorous plants lurk around every corner, and the popular characters from the Ninjago universe must prove their survival skills. Will they manage to leave the island again, or will Lloyd, Kai, Zane, and co. have to rush to their aid?

Three original adventure stories from the LEGO NINJAGO world aligning with the original storyline. In the first story, a famous reporter, Gayle Gossip, runs an investigation to solve the mystery of strange events occurring in Ninjago City: unusual water activity and the odd behavior of water animals. Narrated by Nya herself, the second story introduces a mother-daughter conflict when Nya's mother arrives to help her daughter regain control of her powers. In the third story, the ninja set out on a mission to uncover the source of a power signal that is disrupting marine life and Nya's powers.
