The Celtic Brooch

Pete Parrino is in Florence on business when he stumbles upon Sophia Orsini’s art studio. Sophia is the love of Pete’s life, and he hasn’t seen or heard from her in 20 years...he breaks into her studio and finds evidence that she’s a time traveler...When the clan discovers where she is, Pete, Matt Kelly, and Jack Mallory must decide how much of America’s history they’re willing to change in order to bring Sophia back to the future.

The adventure: In New Orleans to speak at the annual conference of the National Association for Catering & Events, former Army Ranger Billie Malone decides to swing by an estate sale and can’t resist buying a magnificent topaz brooch. Later in the day, while admiring her purchase, she triggers the magic, is whisked back in time to Barataria in 1814, and is drawn into the Battle of New Orleans and the escalation of an ancient, ongoing war with powerful, global combatants. 

From the Badlands to the Bluegrass, this perilous, potentially deadly adventure changes the lives of everyone involved and puts at risk the survival of the Clan and all the Celtic brooches. While dressing for a dinner date with her cousin George Williams and James Cullen Fraser, Ensley Williams picks through her jewelry box for some bling to add to her outfit and chooses her late mother’s sunstone brooch. Engraved on the inside of the stone is an inscription. When she recites the Celtic words, she’s engulfed in a peat-scented fog and transported back to the Dakota Badlands in 1885.

When Tavis Stuart’s estranged mother calls to ask for his help, he says no until she tells him her goddaughter and Tavis’s childhood best friend, archaeologist Aislinn Kennedy, has gone missing. Then when his mother tells him Aislinn disappeared from the museum in Rome where she was working on a Greek and Roman treasure found in a North Dakota cave, he agrees to help.
