The Mystic Knight

Aldric knew from a young age that he was destined to become a mage. After running from home at the age of six he was taken in by the Arch Mage Lorelei Ironheart, and brought under her care and tutelage at the orphanage she runs with her husbands. There he learned the truth on how to become a mage, and how to gain the bonds that would become the family he always wanted. What he learns there will forever change the course of his life and will have long lasting implications not only for him, but for the Empire at large.

After crushing the dwarf, Torg Frosthammer, and bonding with Jordan, Aldric just wants to relax and enjoy the summer break before classes start again. But that is not his lot in life. An urgent summons comes from the Headmaster, and once there, Aldric learns that the Imperial Grand Magus is on his way to determine whether Aldric was justified in his actions with Torg.

Aldric and his bonds have completed their second year at the Academy. More importantly, Aldric bonded twice more which put him on par with the strongest in the Empire. But as his power grows, so too do the threats against him. Unexpectedly, the first threat he faces is from his supposed tutor, Arch Mage Giles Stewart. The man's jealousy for Aldric simmered all year until it finally boiled over in a deadly confrontation. In the end Aldric was forced to end the threat, permanently. But doing so had consequences.
