The Four Vedas – RIG, SAMA, YAJUR and ATHARVA are the fountainhead of ancient Indian philosophy, traditions and practices. It is believed that in the beginning of creation, Vedas were revealed by GOD for the benefit of mankind. The meaning of Vedas is Knowledge. The Vedas are supposed to contain true knowledge in seed form. It is enjoined upon mankind to understand, develop, utilise and propagate this knowledge for individual and universal welfare. This famous work by Lucretius is a masterpiece of didactic poetry, and it still stands today as the finest exposition of Epicurean philosophy ever written.
