Only two floors are left to clear until Jake and the girls reach the dungeon's exit, where the teleporter that leads back to the surface awaits them. A promise from a monstrous rival urges them to delve deeper, but is she just after a rematch, or is there something more at stake? On the other hand, now that they've joined forces with arguably the greatest diver of their generation, the rest of the dungeon should be a cakewalk.

Ken and company come back from summer break after arduous training for their third year at Haylon. No longer are they the fresh adventurers that once didn’t know the right end of the sword. Instead they have settled into Star City among the Orkai and are thriving deep within the dungeon and even locating trails for the class to get powerful new abilities.

Ken and company are back from the dungeon shuffle. Now on Earth once again, their levels outstrip the colleges they were attending. However, that isn't stopping the Headmistress from trying to put them back into the classroom. As they dive once again, going into Star City and beyond they are coming up against new races and Felin is reunited with the nekorian race, though the meeting doesn't go quite as planned. Ken has to weave between uprooting the remainder of the SJS Financial web, following the rules of the Orkai and not collapsing under Crimson's renewed training efforts.

Ken and company find that with the introduction of the Threadspawn, the whole dungeon becomes far less friendly. Even the populace on Earth is spooked. Which is why the UG and Haylon sends Ken and a few others on the press tour. Though, even that can't keep Ken from the action. The Threadspawn invade Earth—meanwhile Ken is recruited fully into the demon hierarchy. Now he has to balance loyalties to the UG and the Hierachry while the Threadspawn threat grows ever closer.

While most other divers are content to wait out the situation in the safe rooms, Jake and the girls are still trying to find answers as they continue to progress further into the dungeon’s depths, but trouble keeps finding them. Previously unseen and drastically overpowered monsters continue to appear, to the point where even the most battle-hardened dungeon divers need their assistance. There’s also the matter of a certain monster girl with an axe to grind against Jake specifically, but will he be able to survive long enough to see her again?

Leaving Boss behind to continue diving the Boneyard, Ivoire Engineer Yash Zarlengo returns to the Lost Souls Corporation’s headquarters to analyze the data from the runabout they discovered there. Convinced the experience in the Boneyard proves the Fleet still exists, Yash buries herself in her work, interested in little else. Ivoire Captain Jonathan “Coop” Cooper notices Yash’s growing obsession with finding the Fleet and joins her in her search. For the first time in six years, the crew of the Ivoire feels real hope. Coop and Yash know all too well the dangers hope can pose.

Classes continue at Haylon academy. Ken has identified who's behind the attacks on his Fieore and is determined to remove that particular problem, yet Haylon rules prevents him from taking it into his own hands. As they dive deeper into the dungeon, Crimson prepares him and the rest of the first years on how to camp in the dungeon. When their camping exercise is interrupted, Ken's done and this time he means business. Ken is going all out and his abilities tell him one thing, Ken was never trained as an adventurer. Ken was trained as an assassin.
