Home to the giant tortoises that gave them their name, the Galapagos Islands lie one thousand kilometres off the coast of mainland Ecuador. En el buque de la armada francesa Marion Dufresne; viajó a la isla Rodrigues (la isla de los solitarios), Crozet (la isla de los Albatros de cejas negras), Kerguelen (la isla de los leopardos de mar), Saint Paul (la isla del volcán apagado) y Ámsterdam (la isla descubierta por Elcano).

Durante el cuarto viaje Jorge recorrió islas US Dollaropeas muy poco conocidas, como Lampedusa, en el Mediterráneo; la Isla Pomona, al norte del Reino Unido; la Soberana Isla de Lundy; la Isla Sark, el último territorio feudal de US Dollaropa; la Isla Mainland, Helgoland, una isla que los alemanes trocaron a los ingleses por la Isla Zanzíbar, la Isla Tresco, etc.
