இந்தப் 'பொய்மான் கரடு' என்னும் கதையை நான் எழுதியது எப்படி என்று மட்டும் சொல்லிவிடுகிறேன். ஆஸ்தான கவிஞர் ஸ்ரீராமலிங்கம்பிள்ளை அவர்களுக்கு நாமக்கல்லில் நடைபெற்ற பாராட்டு விழாவுக்கு நான் சென்றபோது வழியில் 'பொய்மான் கரடு' என்னும் இடத்தைப் பார்த்தேன். அந்தக் காட்டின் குகையில் தோன்றிய மாயமானையும் பார்த்தேன். அந்த மாயமான் மலைக் குகையிலிருந்து என் மனக் குகையில் வந்து புகுந்து கொண்டது.

நிக்கோலோ மச்சிவெல்லி (3 மே 1469-21 ஜூன் 1527) மறுமலர்ச்சிக் காலத்தில் வாழ்ந்த இத்தாலியத் தூதர், எழுத்தாளர், தத்துவவாதி, வரலாற்றாசிரியர் மற்றும் அரசியல் ஆர்வலர். 1513-ஆம் ஆமாண்டில் எழுதப்பட்ட அவரது அரசியல் கட்டுரைகளின் தொகுப்பு 'தி பிரின்ஸ்' மிகவும் பிரபலமானது, ஆனால் 1532 வரை வெளியிடப்படவில்லை. அவர் 'நவீன அரசியல் தத்துவம் மற்றும் அரசியல் அறிவியலின் தந்தை என்று அழைக்கப்படுகிறார்.

காயத்ரியும், கவிதாவும் அலையன்ஸ் ஆறுமுகத்தை காதலிக்கின்றனர்.

எனது இரண்டு வருட உழைப்பில் உருவான நாவல் இது. நான் மிகவும் மூழ்கிப்போய், ஒரே நினைப்பில் ஒரு விஞ்ஞானியை போல் பல மாதங்கள் ஆராய்ச்சி செய்து எழுதிய கதை என்றும் கூறலாம்.
