The apocalyptic event known as the Reset took place five years ago... In the span of a few seconds, ninety percent of the world's population was killed by a mysterious alien force. The ten percent left had their memories wiped. They were given incredible superpowers and a LitRPG stat system that allowed them to advance their skills. But they lost a lot of technology in the process. Many lost their humanity. Sterling Monedero was one of these survivors.

When the going gets tough, Sheriff Duke gets tougher. He’ll have to if he’s going to survive long enough to see justice done. The monsters infecting the forgotten Earth don’t sleep, and neither can he. There’s no time to rest. There’s no time to recover. Millennia ago, Ginny's family farm was all grass and rock and wild horses. A thousand years hence, it'll all be peacefully underwater. Scurrying around underneath is our hero, Eldridge - a big-hearted, bumbling drifter with an estranged family he loves dearly. He’s deep in debt and deathly sick, so he places a bet predicting the day he’ll die. If he wins, he can go to his grave knowing that his family will be safe, but when he returns to his hometown to collect, he gets some bad news: He’s going to live. So it’s on to plan B.
