Ørjan N. Karlsson is a bestselling Norwegian crime and thriller author. He is the creator of the acclaimed Jakob Weber detective series, set against the harsh, atmospheric backdrop of the Arctic North. The series has captured international attention, with rights sold to the UK, Germany, the Netherlands, Sweden, Denmark, and Bulgaria. The highly anticipated fifth installment is set for release in autumn 2026.

Karlsson is also the author of a high-octane military thriller series featuring Norwegian special forces operators Ida Vinterdal and Frank Halvorsen. His critically acclaimed thriller White Armada (Hvit Armada)—which envisions a chilling scenario where Russia invades northern Norway without triggering a NATO Article 5 response—has been praised by critics as "unpleasantly realistic" and even utilized as a case study in academic research.

Before turning to fiction, Karlsson served as an army officer and deployed on multiple international missions for the UN, EU, and NATO. He holds a master’s degree in sociology from the University of Oslo and brings his real-world defense and geopolitical expertise straight to the page.
