A J Mackenzie is the pseudonym of Marilyn Livingstone and Morgen Witzel, an Anglo-Canadian husband-and-wife team of writers and historians. Marilyn has a PhD in medieval economic history and Morgen has an MA in early modern history. They have lived and worked in the UK for over 30 years. A J MacKenzie currently has 3 series of historical crim/thrillers published. The 1st, the Hardcastle & Chaytor mysteries (publ by Zaffre) are set in 1790s Kent and are full of intrigue, smuggling and murder. The 2nd (publ by Canelo) are set in 1812-13 in Canada during the War of 1812 between the USA and Canada.
