Angela Manno is an internationally exhibited artist devoted to the vision of humanity and the Earth living as One. Her art resides in private collections throughout the Americas, Europe, the Middle East, and Southeast Asia. Distinguished venues to exhibit her work include the National Museum of Women in the Arts, the American Museum of Natural History, and Yale University. Her works are part of the permanent fine art collections of NASA and the Smithsonian Institution’s National Air and Space Museum in Washington, D.C.

Ms. Manno trained with a master iconographer in an ancient liturgical process that originated in the monasteries of fourteenth- to sixteenth-century Russia. She studied Earth Literacy at Genesis Farm, a learning center dedicated to “reinventing the human at the species level” inspired by ecologian Thomas Berry, who was her mentor for more than thirty years. Her semester-long course “Eco-spirituality & Action” for New York Quakers led to their “Peace with Earth” declaration, expanding their 1660 Peace Declaration to King Charles II.

In 2022, Manno was commissioned by the Vatican Dicastery on Integral Human Development to create an audio-visual program to open Laudato Si’ Week, the seven-year anniversary of Pope Francis’s groundbreaking encyclical. The program “Responding to the Cry of the Earth,” which she also narrated, featured images from her series Contemporary Icons of Endangered Species and appeared on computer screens around the world as part of the global event No More Biodiversity Collapse: Rebalancing Social Systems with Nature.

Angela Manno’s art has been the subject of numerous articles in publications, including Hyperallergic, National Wildlife magazine, The Progressive, Smithsonian Magazine, ARTNews, Treehugger, EarthBeat (National Catholic Reporter), and Sojourners. She has also been interviewed on NPR’s All Things Considered. Her art is featured in two coffee table books, Visions of Space and In the Stream of Stars: The Soviet American Space Art Book, and on the cover of Animal Dignity edited by bioethicist Melanie Challenger.

Manno often speaks at and attends conferences dedicated to subjects related to art, spirituality, and ecology, including the American Teilhard Association, Harvard Divinity School’s Program for the Evolution of Spirituality, and the Thomas Berry Forum for Contemplative Ecology. She is on the faculty of the Deep Time Network’s Leadership Program. She collaborates with the Center for Biological Diversity on its endangered species programs and donates a portion of the sales from her original art to the Center and other conservation organizations.
