I am a book nerd. I was one of those kids who got seriously pumped when the book fair came to my school. I write because I have no other choice. It's the way I understand life, so I would write no matter what. I live with my family of four in the mountains of Appalachia (pronounced "Apple-at-cha," short a...like if you get it wrong I'll throw an apple at cha ;), where the people are real, the music is rich, and manners will get you further than just about anything else. Prayer is my entire game plan for life and parenting. I drink entirely too much coffee (don't really like tea unless I'm sick), and have a weakness for a bowl of cereal before bed. My husband and I are raising our two boys, now creeping closer and closer to adulthood, in Southwestern Virginia (not to be confused with South West Virginia...but we aren't too far from there, and are just as wild and wonderful). In the bleachers is where we spend most of our days... Every single one of my stories is birthed out of weakness, and I've chosen to fulfill the words of Paul in 2 Corinthians 12:9-10 by boasting "all the more about my weaknesses, so that Christ’s power may reside in me." His power is perfected in our weaknesses, so I take pleasure in them, "for the sake of Christ. For when I am weak, then I am strong."
