A mother of five, Carrie writes about autism, marriage, and the messiness that is building a family. She is the author of What Color is Monday: How Autism Changed One Family for the Better, Someone I'm With Has Autism, and Half My Sky: Autism, Marriage, and the Messiness That is Building a family. In her latest book, Marriage: I Love You (for now) Carrie explores how raising a diagnosed child both strains and strengthens a partnership, how siblings find their place in a family that doesn't look like others, and how small victories become monumental triumphs. Her book Autism Out Loud: Life With a Child on the Spectrum, From Diagnosis Day to Young Adulthood, was a collaboration with writers and friends Kate Swenson and Adrian Wood, and in instant New York Times Best Seller. Carrie is a regular contributor to the Huffington Post, TODAY Parents, Grown and Flown, and Love What Matters. She has been interviewed by NBC Nightly news and has given a TEDx Talk.
