Chris Dennis is the author of the story collection Here Is What You Do. His stories and essays have appeared in The Paris Review, Playgirl, McSweeney's, Astra, Granta, Lit Hub, Bull, Guernica and Best American Essays 2023. He is the recipient of an NEA Fellowship and a New York Times Sidney Award for long-form journalism. A graduate and fellow of the Writing program at Washington University in St. Louis, he currently lives in southern Illinois where he works in public health as a recovery and overdose prevention coordinator.
