Danielle Brooks (born Ashley Robinson) hails from Richmond, Virginia, with a long love for writing and reading since her school-age years. Her earliest memory of writing her first “book” was as a 5th grader in a simple five-subject notebook. She later found love in poetry, only sharing it with a few friends and family and occasionally in class. In 2023, Ashley decided to follow her pursuit to become an author, taking on her alter ego, Danielle Brooks, a name that pays homage to her identity and her family lineage. She currently still lives in Richmond with her two children, a host of family, and dear friends.
