David Murray is author of several books, including Soccer Dad (Disruption Books, 2026) and An Effort to Understand (Disruption Books, 2021). He is an award-winning journalist whose writing on sports and other subjects has appeared in many publications, including The New York Times, the Chicago Tribune and The Atlantic. David is editor and publisher of one of the world’s longest continuously published magazines, Vital Speeches of the Day. He's founder and executive director of the Professional Speechwriters Association. David lives in Chicago with his wife and daughter.
