Dr David Oxley is a dual UK/US citizen based in Austin, Texas where he lives with his wife Sue.
David started his career as a management consultant before working in different aspects of the energy sector, where he performed various executive roles across Europe, the USA, Asia, and the Middle East.
In 2022, he started a writing collaboration with his friend and long time colleague Dr Helmut Schuster with the goal of reimagining aspects of business literature. The idea of making business literature more accessible, more relevant, more fun, had been a long running shared ambition.
In 2023, they launched their first book, A Career Carol - the first book in the Shey Sinope saga. The books are designed to explore the major existential crises we all must face during a 40+ year career and do so in a refreshing new format that blends story telling with practical relevant advice.
David describes his contribution to the writing collaboration as "writing something that is helpful, anchored in the realities today's young professionals face... but with a keen eye to the humor and absurdity that often surrounds us. I believe writing, conversing, thinking, should be joyful, and having fun is infectious. I hope that my writing inspires some deep and helpful reflection... but I'll settle for an occasional smile."
David was awarded his doctorate in Organizational Change at Cranfield University and his MBA from the University of Notre Dame.
