Justin D. Key is an American author, actor, entrepreneur, and educator. Raised in rural Tennessee as the eighth of nine children, he was the first in his family to graduate from college, earning a degree in mathematics before pursuing a career in entertainment, education, and business.

His books explore curiosity, identity, mindset, and the unexpected directions life can take. He is the author of The Pursuit of Curiosity: A Multi-Hyphenate’s Journey of Self-Discovery, Purpose, and Fulfillment (2025), a CIPA EVVY Award nominee, and Mind Control: Change the Way You Think So You Can Live a Limitless Life (2018). He is also the creator of Mama Knows Best, a comedy audiobook inspired by the relationship between a Southern mother and her son, co-narrated with MADtv’s Debra Wilson. His writing has also appeared in Blavity and Mogul Millennial.

Outside writing, Justin is a SAG-AFTRA actor, a member of the faculty at the USC School of Dramatic Arts, where he teaches Going Viral: Performance for New Media and Creator as Entrepreneur, and the founder and CEO of Black Theorem Co., a leadership consulting firm based in Los Angeles.
