Elle Johnson’s debut memoir, THE OFFICER’S DAUGHTER, was published by HarperCollins and is the story of a family, a terrible tragedy, and the power of forgiveness. In 2021 People Magazine named it one of their Best New Books and The New York Times Book review called it “immensely moving.” Elle is also a TV writer and Executive Producer who worked on BOSCH, the Amazon original series based on the Michael Connelly best-selling detective novels. Other credits include iconic police procedurals LAW AND ORDER, CSI MIAMI, and HOMICIDE based on the groundbreaking book by David Simon and listed as one of the WGA’s 101 Best Written TV Series of all time. She has written for character-driven series including fan favorite GHOST WHISPERER, staring Jennifer Love Hewit, and won an NAACP Image award as co-showrunner on Netflix’s limited series SELF MADE: INSPIRED BY THE LIFE OF MADAM CJ WALKER starring Octavia Spencer, who was nominated for an Emmy for her performance in the lead role. Originally from Hollis, Queens, she lives in Los Angeles, California.
