THE VIRGINS OF VENICE is GINA BUONAGURO’s first solo novel and won First Place in the 2023 Chaucer Awards for Early Historical Fiction. She coauthored with Janice Kirk three previous historical novels, The Sidewalk Artist, Ciao Bella, and The Wolves of St. Peter’s, which was longlisted for the 2014 Arthur Ellis Best Novel Award, as well as three romances under the pen name Meadow Taylor, Falling for Rain, The Billionaire’s Secrets, and Midnight in Venice. She is the sole recipient of a Canada Council for the Arts grant and a Fulbright Scholarship as well as a co-recipient of one Canada Council for the Arts grant and three Ontario Arts Council grants. Born in New Jersey, Gina currently resides with her family in Toronto, Canada, where she is working on her next novel.
