After graduating with a BA in Economics from Duke University, Glen Dawson owned and operated a manufacturing plant for 23 years. He sold the factory and went back to school to get his Masters degree in biostatistics from Boston University. After graduating, he worked as a biostatistician in clinical trials, and taught statistics at Simmons University in Boston.

Upon moving to North Carolina, Dawson opened an after-school learning academy for advanced math students in grades 2 through 12. After expanding the academy from 30 to 430 students, he sold it to Art of Problem Solving in San Diego, CA, whose goal was to expand Dawson's concept nationwide. He then served as the National Director of Art of Problem Solving Academy. Under his leadership, the Academy witnessed substantial growth, with over 12,000 students enrolled across the United States, including over 1,300 students at the original academy founded by Dawson in North Carolina.

Following his departure from Art of Problem Solving, Dawson ventured into the entertainment industry, founding Alien View, LLC, and authoring the book Alien View.
