'Amazing novels' - Sharon Marshall, ITV This Morning presenter. 'Such a good writer. She's fantastic!' - Jane Garvey, Woman's Hour, BBC Radio 4. My historical sagas are set in a British northeast mining village, where I grew up. My books feature feisty females and are wonderfully dramatic, written with a touch of humour. I also write fun, cosy crimes and these are set in modern-day Scarborough on the UK's Yorkshire coast. I’m a prize-winning short story writer too. My short fiction has appeared in magazines including Take a Break, My Weekly, The People's Friend and The People's Friend Fiction Special. And I am the author of the first ever weekly soap opera, Riverside, for The People's Friend magazine - the longest running women's magazine in the world. A life-long fan of the soap opera Coronation Street, I run two Coronation Street fan websites. The Coronation Street Blog is praised by the Manchester Evening News as 'Excellent' and 'Essential Reading for Street Fans'. The site was a finalist in the UK Blog Awards 2016 and 2018. I also run and own the internet's first and original Coronation Street fan website www.corrie.net, online since 1995.
