Hema Jay intends to pen contemporary women issues & modern family problems arising in this new era. While exploring various relationship & elderly issues, she likes to delve more on different facets of disturbing societal stigmas. To date, Hema has written 29 novels including 7 kurunovels and more than 40 short stories. All her print books are getting published by Priya Nilayam, Chennai since 2016. Short story collection ‘Sitrerumbugalin Kalam’ is published by Pulam publications and 'Kanangal' got published by Pustaka. She is grateful that her works have been published in print magazines including AndhiMazhai, Kalki, Mangaiyar Malar, Penmani, Kanmani, Dinamani Kathir and in several online magazines including Vasagarsalai & Thendral. Recently one of her novels ‘Yaazhinidhu’ that talks about a widely unknown ALS issue, secured first place in the Kanmani novel competition. Considering the need of the times, a YouTube channel ('Hema Jay Audio Novels') is also commenced to make some of her works available in audio format.
