I'm the third-born of four Texas kids to two teenagers who knew each other for 2 weeks before they married. Our family was an adventure, for sure, full of love, dysfunction, and beauty - I don't wish any of it away. I am a husband, father, Papa, Pastor, author, and coach who lives to be an encouragement to others. I particularly love to help people find God, break free of religion, develop deep community, and lead with love.
Sue and I have been married for over 40 years and have a marriage many others envy. Five children, two daughters-in-love, five grandchildren, and one super-cute adopted Mexican street dog make up the core of our tribe, with many close friends for good measure.
