Kelsey Vander Vliet Ranyard has worked in the adoption field for several years and currently serves as the Director of Policy and Advocacy at Ethical Family Building in Los Angeles. Kelsey advocates for ethical standards among adoption professionals and child-centered adoptions. Adoption has played a significant role in Kelsey's life as she is a birth mother as well as the daughter and granddaughter of adoptees. Kelsey is the co-founder of the grassroots group, Utah Adoption Rights, the co-author of Adoption Unfiltered, and the co-producer of the 2026 film, Carrying. She holds a Bachelor of Arts degree from South Dakota State University and is currently pursuing a Master of Public Administration degree from the University of North Carolina at Pembroke. Kelsey resides in San Diego with her husband and daughters.
