Lisa Bent is a British author, HR leader and counsellor-trained professional whose work explores love, identity, visibility and self-discovery. Her debut novel, Symona’s Still Single, is a contemporary London love story that centres Black British womanhood and the realities of modern dating, friendship and self-worth. Written with warmth, humour and emotional insight, the novel offers a refreshing perspective on romance — one that values authenticity, self-awareness and self-love. She holds a first-class degree in Counselling which informs her storytelling, giving her characters emotional depth and realism grounded in lived experience. Lisa is also the co-author of Bombshell (2024), written with Alison Hammond, and is currently working on the sequel to Symona’s Still Single. She lives in London and continues to write stories that reflect the complexity, humour and heart of contemporary life.
