Luca Dal Monte is an Italian author specializing in biography and narrative non-fiction, with a focus on motorsport and football history. Born in Cremona in 1963, he studied U.S. History and Political Science at the University of Kentucky before returning to Italy, where he spent two decades in automotive communications, holding senior roles at Peugeot Italy, Toyota Motor Italy, Pirelli, Ferrari, and Maserati.

Dal Monte began writing as a teenager, publishing his first pieces in the local paper La Provincia at age sixteen. He later turned his industry experience and passion for research into full-time writing, producing books built on extensive archival work and first-hand interviews. His 2016 biography Ferrari Rex — the product of nearly a decade of research, over 1,500 hours in the archives, and dozens of interviews — was hailed by The New York Times as "the definitive biography" of Enzo Ferrari and became an Amazon bestseller.

His other titles include Ferrari – Presunto Colpevole, La Trattativa, La Congiura degli Innocenti, and the historical novels Le Ragazze del Muretto and La Scuderia. His latest book, The Gentleman, explores Gianluca Vialli's lasting influence on English football.

Dal Monte's work has won the Premio Selezione Bancarella Sport and the Premio Sandro Ciotti, been shortlisted for the Royal Automobile Club's Motoring Book of the Year Award, and translated into multiple languages.
