Dr. Malachi O’Brien (Dr. Run) built his life and mission on one core conviction: Do Very Hard Things. This relentless obsession has fueled his completion of 153 consecutive daily marathons, multi-day ultra-endurance races, and a lifelong call to awaken people to an uncommon, zealous pursuit of the Presence of Jesus through prayer and fasting. As the founder of Malachi Media, a digital media and coaching company, Malachi has cultivated a bold online presence—using story, strategy, and service to inspire and equip others at the highest level. He serves on the National Faith Advisory Board and is the former Vice President of the Southern Baptist Convention. In 2025, Malachi launched the Do Very Hard Things Society and The Order of the Flame—a movement and community for the uncommon, committed to personal transformation and global impact through bold spiritual and physical challenges. Malachi and his wife, Rachel, are parents to eight children and passionate advocates for foster care and adoption. Together, they are living proof that family, faith, and grit can change the world.
