Manuela Schoop was born in 1977 in Finsterwalde, Germany. She is happily married and a mother of two young daughters. After training as a retail saleswoman and working in that field for several years, she completed her Magister (Master’s equivalent) degree in Linguistics, German Studies, and Phonetics in 2011, with a primary focus on child language acquisition. Today, she works as a freelance childminder and leads parent-child courses. She began working on her six-part book series, "Die Bischofbande" (The Bishop Gang), when she was just 11 years old.
