Mark is one half of the dynamic duo that is Mark & Nicky Taylor, also known as Mr and Mrs T, and it is only on a very rare occasion that you will find them apart, they come as a pair. They are married and work together (in fact, they are together 25 hours a day, 8 days a week) changing people’s lives across the globe, through their training company, The Taylored Life Company. From an early age Mark knew that he thought differently to those around him and he didn’t seem to fit. Whilst his friends were out socializing, Mark preferred to spend time alone, he enjoyed reading and studying people who were successful from all walks of life to find out what it was that made them successful, what was it that made them different to the rest? A firm believer, even at this young age, that learning how to communicate well was one of the keys to success, Mark took a range of part time and holiday jobs whilst he continued his studies at School and later further education, so that he could learn practical skills to quickly be able to build rapport with people from all backgrounds, learning how to communicate with them in a way that he could easily understand them and they could understand him. Encouraged by his mother to study to get a good, safe, well qualified job that paid well, Mark started a Degree in Accounting in Leeds, but quickly realised that this was a long way from his desire to understand how people think and follow his passion, which by this time he had come to realise was to make a difference in other people’s lives. No surprise then that Mark made a 180 degree turn and decided to join the Police, much to his Mother’s dismay at the time! Mark’s enquiring mind and desire to Make THE Difference both accelerated and simultaneously hindered his career with West Midland’s Police, depending upon who was assessing him! Mark enjoyed an exemplary 29-year Police career, the last 19 years of which he spent as a Sergeant, mainly specialising in training recruit Police Officers. He even worked as part of a small team who, together with the Home Office, developed the curriculum by which all student Police Officers across England and Wales are still trained today. In 2006 everything changed when he met Nicky. Their meeting and subsequent acceleration of the growth of their relationship, which was guided by a number of events that can only be described as synchronicity, should really be the storyline for a future book! They soon realised that they had a common passion for self-development and making the difference, and in 2009 embarked on their Neuro Linguistic Programming (NLP) journey together, finding themselves in Sydney Australia by the end of that year, training as NLP Trainers. They always believe in being the very best that they can be so they continued their studies and are the only couple in the world to have qualified together as Master Trainers of NLP (2015) and Master Trainers of Hypnosis (2018) with the ABNLP and the ABH. Firmly establishing themselves as International experts in Behavior and Relationships. They are also the co-creators of NLP+® and Personal Evolutionary Coaching™. Since 2009, Mark & Nicky have assisted thousands of people across the globe to transform their lives via coaching and training through their company The Taylored Life Company. They have also transformed their own lives using the tools and techniques that they train others. Mark recovering from a bout of Clinical Depression triggered by suicidal thoughts back in 2002 and then a diagnosis of Chronic Fatigue Syndrome in 2008 when he was told that he might spend the rest of his life in a wheelchair. In 2010, they were again challenged, this time by a car accident leaving Nicky with cognitive and balance issues. Nicky went from being a Senior Officer in the Civil Service to a person who could not cross the road unless aided by Mark. She did not drive for three years due to her challenges at that time. They used everything that they had learnt to ‘reprogram’ Nicky’s brain with her making a full recovery. In 2017 they teamed up with one of their NLP+® Graduates, broadcaster and entrepreneur Ed James, as subject matter experts; launching their popular ‘Be More’ podcast in January 2020 and their first book ‘Be More Kid’ in November 2020. The book and podcast series combine their years of expertise as behaviour and relationship experts with their other passion of having fun, giving readers and listeners hints and tips on how to improve their everyday lives through mindset. They go against the self-development ‘norm’ and believe that it’s not about having to create a new you and different versions of yourself; you already have all of the resources that you need and have had them since a child. Be More Kid is about unlearning the unhelpful habits that you have learned as an adult and regaining your zest for life. Mark and Nicky between them have two daughters, two sons and six grandchildren with another on the way, they also have a very distinguished cat called Eric the Cat. They both love travelling, during a normal year spending several weeks in India, Spain, the USA and Canada. They are also foodies (Mark loves Goan fish curry rice) and both enjoy cooking, which is balanced out by walks in the countryside, visiting the gym and yoga. On visits to the seaside in the UK there is always a highly competitive game of crazy golf and the loser buys the fish and chips. They enjoy themselves wherever they go and believe that life is all about ‘Be More Kid’.
