Visit my website at: www.michaelxwang.com I was born in Fenyang, a small coal-mining city in China’s mountainous Shanxi Province. I immigrated to the United States when I was six and have lived in ten states and fifteen cities. I hold a PhD in Literature from Florida State University and an MFA in Fiction from Purdue. Currently, I live in Arkansas with my family. FURTHER NEWS OF DEFEAT: STORIES won the 2021 PEN/Robert W. Bingham Prize and was a finalist for the CLMP Firecracker Award. My short fiction has appeared in New England Review, Greensboro Review, Witness, and Juked, among many others, and they have won an AWP Intro Award and been selected by the Best American Anthology as a notable story of the year. My novel, LOST IN THE LONG MARCH, is forthcoming in 2022 from The Overlook Press.
