MIKE KINNEY is a singer, songwriter, and worship leader as well as the founder and inventor of Kinney Capos. After a life-changing auto accident, causing second and third degree burns on his body and a traumatic brain injury, Mike rose from the ashes. Throughout Mike’s difficult recovery and rehabilitation, the one thing that always gave him hope and connection was music and playing guitar. After his accident and subsequent brain injury, complicated chord positions became more difficult. Although he wasn’t expected to be able to play again, he learned how with the help of partial capos, devices that make it easier to play more complicated guitar chords. One year after his accident, God gave Mike a dream about a new, multi-functional capo that Mike set out to create, so that other people in recovery, as well as able-bodied people, can use it to play music and find connection to God and others. Mike’s story demonstrates how God can move one life to spread His message and love to millions of others.
