Nadine Pinede is a Haitian American poet and writer whose work is rooted in listening and who writes for readers of all ages. She is the author of When the Mapou Sings, an Américas Award Honor Book and Global Reads selection, and Uprooted: A Journey in Poems. Her writing explores history, the body, and the natural world. She is also the founder of the Coming to Our Senses retreat, a deep listening gathering for those who want to quiet the noise and attune their senses. She lives near an ancient forest, where she mentors creatives with a focus on compassion.
