Niyah Moore is a prolific author, playwright, and director with more than 60 published novels, novellas, and short stories to her name. A native of Sacramento, California, she discovered her passion for storytelling at just nine years old, quickly developing a voice that would grow into a defining presence in contemporary African American literature. Her literary journey began in 2007 on Myspace, where she shared her early work and contributed to anthologies, laying the foundation for a professional career that now spans over two decades. Since then, she has secured both independent and major publishing deals, including her first two-book contract with Simon & Schuster in 2014, followed by a six-book deal with Kensington Publishing under the Urban Renaissance imprint in 2019. Beyond the page, Moore is an accomplished playwright and director whose productions, Tinker the Toy Maker, Major Jazz, and Love, Lies, & Brunch, have been staged in her hometown. Her work has earned numerous honors, including the Exceptional Women of Color Award of Northern California, two African American Literary Awards for Best Anthology, and a nomination for the AAMBC Literary Award for Best Digital Publisher. A versatile storyteller with a gift for emotionally resonant narratives, Moore continues to captivate readers across genres, leaving audiences eager for each new release.
