I read history at Western Sydney University, in Australia, where I specialize in Japanese history. I am passionate about the Imperial Army and Navy and the role they played in shaping Japan’s course in the first half of the twentieth century. My latest book, entitled "Tojo: The Rise and Fall of Japan’s Most Controversial World War II General," is a biography of the man who rose atop the Japanese army and then dominated his nation’s policymaking processes for the greater part of the second World War.
