RK Jack is a best-selling, award-winning author of horror and dark fantasy, known for stories that blend supernatural terror with grounded, realistic characters. His work has earned numerous awards and honors, including the 2025 Hollywood Book Festival, the 2025 Global Thriller Awards, the 2025 Pinnacle Book Achievement Awards, and more.
A retired federal agent with more than thirty years of service in law enforcement and the military, Jack served on specialized response teams, worked both uniformed and undercover assignments, and spent two decades as a Federal Air Marshal. His career included combat service during Operation Desert Storm as an enlisted soldier, followed by commissioned service as a lieutenant in the U.S. Army National Guard.
In addition to his operational background, Jack brings extensive martial arts and weapons training to his fiction. He trained and competed as an amateur in MMA and boxing, holds brown belts in Judo and Aikido, and spent many years working full-time as a professional instructor. This experience informs his writing style, which emphasizes authentic action, psychological tension, and flawed characters who face fear, violence, and the unknown as real people rather than invincible heroes.
HORROR FICTION – OCCULT STRIKE TEAM
RK Jack’s horror novels blend supernatural horror, military realism, and modern tactical fiction. His Occult Strike Team series begins with The Devourer From Beyond and continues with The Mist From Beyond, following trained professionals as they confront eldritch threats, occult forces, and entities that defy logic, science, and faith. These stories appeal to readers who enjoy dark, intense horror, realistic combat, and high-stakes confrontations with the unknown.
DARK FANTASY—ARGENT THE UNICORN
In his dark fantasy works, Jack explores mythic worlds, cursed bloodlines, ancient magic, and morally complex heroes. His award-winning novella Argent showcases a darker, atmospheric style of fantasy, blending classic fantasy elements with emotional depth, moral ambiguity, and supernatural danger. Across these stories, heroism is earned not through destiny or perfection, but through the willingness to stand against darkness despite fear, loss, and consequence.
RK Jack currently lives in Denver, Colorado, where he continues to write horror, dark fantasy, and speculative fiction for readers who enjoy immersive worlds, realistic characters, and stories where the supernatural collides with human courage.
